Abstract
FESA, which brings together 21 national shogi associations in Europe, promotes the game through the organization of the European Shogi Championship and the World Open Shogi Championship, the adoption of the ELO rating system, and support for promotional activities.

Federation of European Shogi Associations
The Federation of European Shogi Associations (FESA) is the international organization at the European level that includes among its members the national reference associations for the game of shogi.
FESA promotes shogi through the annual organization of the European Shogi Championship (ESC) and the World Open Shogi Championship (WOSC), the adoption of the ELO rating system for players, and support for activities promoting the game.
FESA includes 21 national associations from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, and Hungary. For Italy, the Italian Shogi Association (AIS) has been recognized as the national reference since 1999.
