Il kakoi è la struttura difensiva dello Shogi. Sono composti da: Osho/Gyokusho, Kinsho, Ginsho, Keima, Kyosha. Ovviamente comprendono i Fuhyo. Raramente comprendono Kakugyo e Hisha.
